If you can’t make the meeting, please reach out to me and we can make other arrangements ahead of time.

The July COC had a good turn out with 5 entries, representing 5 different styles, the quality of all beers showcased the skill of the club members.

After the mini-BOS, the judges, James Hough,  Evan Brady, Mark Rendon and Harry Anderson selected Jorge Hernandez’s Irish Red Ale for the bronze, Jimmy Orkin’s English Porter for the silver and Ian Heger’s American Lager for the gold, all very good beers.

Thanks to North Texas Homebrew Supply (now open on Mondays) for allowing us to use their store for few hours and Terry for staying late.

The May COC had a very good turn out with 9 entries, representing 9 different styles, the quality of the beers was excellent with half the entries scoring a 40+ over better as judged by a James “Smitty” Smith and Mike Grover (who is a BJCP certified judge).

After the mini-BOS, the judges selected Randy Grogan’s Belgian Blond Ale for the Bronze, Terry Olinger’s Helles Bock for the Silver and the Gold goes to Mark Rendon’s Dark Mild. All excellent beers.

The March COC had a record number of entries, with a total of 14 entries showcasing 13 different styles, which always makes for an enjoyable round of judging.

After much discussion among the judges; Jimmy Orkin, Marcus Burleson, Des Mora, and Charlie Henderson, the judges selected a Rauchbier brewed by James “Smitty” Smith for the bronze, a Saison brewed by Evan Brady & Bruce Robinson for silver and a Dunkel Weissbier brewed by Steve Littel for the gold.

I know there are folks out there looking for a place to sample 7 different styles of beer this Thursday, and that place would at North Texas Homebrew Supply starting at 6-6:30pm

The best part you don’t need any experience to judge and I’ll be streaming March Madness if the judges are so inclined so you wont miss any games.
