American IPA Recipe

Post by James Smith »

I'm looking for a tried and true American IPA recipe for my next brew. Anyone care to share theirs or provide suggestions? I've done several hazy's, but it's time to get back to basics.
Cheers!

I like the American IPA in Brewing Classic Styles.

I like using Brewing Classic Styles as a starting point as well, but be aware of the specialty grain percentages when transferring all grain recipe into beersmith/brewersfriend/etc, especially if scaling up the volume. The percentages they list for specialty grains is the weight percentage of the extract recipe. If you use their all grain option the Percentage changes. The Irish Red for example lists the specialty grains at 6 oz/4.1% but the same weight in the all grain recipe drops the percentage to 3.0% with the same 6oz addition.
