Receiving Notifications
In the top right area, there is a "Notifications" link with the bell next to it. Click on that --> Settings to set up notifications. At least, that's what I understand is the process to get notified on posts.
Cheers!

Re: Receiving Notifications
If you want to notified of new post or responses to posts, you can set up subscriptions.
Go into the forum you want to subscribe to and click the Subscribe Forum button at the bottom. Its a bit repetitive to subscribe to all the forum if want to see them all but you only have to do it once.
You can manage your subscriptions in the User Control Panel (UCP). Click on your name in the upper right, then select User Control Panel.
Then click on Manage Subscriptions on the left. You can remove subscriptions by checking the mark box on the right then click Unwatch Marked at the bottom.

Re: Receiving Notifications
Subscribe to every forum is a pain in the butt. There should be a global subscribe to all in account settings. Not sure what they were thinking there.
Cheers!
