Limbo Update and Judge Registration

Limbo entry registration closes in one week at 11:59pm on 7/26. There are currently 293 beers entered so far with a few spots still available. If you have a Belgian, British Bitter & Pale, or German & Belgian Wheat beer, there are still spots available in those tables.

Log-In Saturday 7/27, 9-12
If you have entered, remember to print out your labels and either drop off your entries at North Texas Homebrew Supply by 5pm 7/26, or better yet, bring them to log-in on Saturday morning, 7/27 at 9 am. Help will be needed from 9-12 to get all entries unboxed, sorted and labeled so please come by.

Judging Registration
Judging registration is open on BCOEM with the different session times available to sign up (Friday Night 8/2, Saturday morning and afternoon 8/3, and Sunday 8/4) After we have judges signed up we will allocate tables to maximize judging time. Please go ahead and sign up now for times you are available. We will be reaching out to members and other clubs to encourage participation. If you have not judged before, you will be paired up with a BJCP or experienced judge so don’t be afraid to sign up.

If you are available to help judge, please register as a judge at: https://limbocomp.org/bcoem/ Click on Register then Judge. Input your information and then select the times you are available.

  1. James, You can enter the beer in any category you think it will fit and do well when judged against the guidelines for the style you enter it as. ESB would normally fall under 11C, strong bitter. If you brewed this on the low end of SG/ABV it may do well as a best bitter.

  2. I have an ESB. I haven’t entered LIMBO before. Can anyone advise if my ESB would count in the British Bitter category? If so, I’ll enter. Thanks!
