This month’s COC had a good turn out with 9 entries, representing 8 different styles, the quality of all beers showcased the skill of the club members.
After lining up the mini-BOS, the judges, Jason Garland, Walter Hodges, Terry Olinger and the esteemed Bill Lawrence selected Jimmy Orkin’s Belgian Dubbel for the Bronze, Steve Littel’s Märzen for the Silver and this month’s Gold goes to James “Smitty” Smith for his German Pils.
You can see the results over at coc.nthba.org and download your score sheet.
Thanks to North Texas Homebrew Supply (now open on Mondays) for allowing us to use their store for few hours and Steve Littel for staying late.
Reminder you collect Brewer Royale points and a $10 gift card for being a COC judge.
Thanks again to all who entered, the next COC will be in September, registration will open November 1st and close the day of the November club meeting (COC takes place on the odd numbered months).
Cheers John,
Well, I don’t know how esteemed I am however I have had the fortunate experience of quaffing a few brews during my time on this earth and I know the good stuff when I come across it. The beer quality for this COC was very high and I especially want to sing the praises of Smitty for his pils. That beer is (or was as he may well have sucked it all down) one of the finest beers (both commercial or homebrewed) I have had the pleasure to taste in quite some time. Of course, now, there will be no living with him, but it was a great effort.
