February Meeting Move due to Valentines Day

Our regular schedule of club meeting on the second Tuesday collides with Valentines Day this year. Due to past low turnout at meetings on Feb 14th, and in the interest of keeping our spouses happy, we will move both the club meeting and officer meeting up 1 week. That will still keep the meeting on Tuesday night and free up Valentines Day for those with conflicts.

February meeting dates are now as follows.

  • Officer meeting, Tuesday January 31st, Bavarian Grill, Plano
  • Club meeting, Tuesday February 7th, North Texas Homebrew Supply

November Brew day at North Texas Homebrew Supply – Nov 5th, 9am-4pm – Update

Reminder of the upcoming club brew day and AHA Learn to Homebrew Day to be held at North Texas Homebrew Supply. We currently have three brewers planning to brew on a variety of systems. Link to calendar info and address can be found HERE.

  • Terry will be brewing a Czech Pils on the shop Brewzilla. (See recipe below)
  • Eric will be brewing a black IPA using a brew in a bag system,
  • Jason will be brewing an extract batch

Club Happenings This Week

Greetings, club members. We have a couple of events this week I wanted to remind you of.

  1. We have a club meeting on Tuesday at Odd Muse in Farmers Branch. They are located at 4488 Spring Valley Rd, Farmers Branch, TX 75244. We will arrive starting at 6:30 and get the meeting going sometime after 7:00. Food is not available at Odd Muse, so please plan accordingly. There is a BBQ place across the parking lot.

  2. Saturday, October 15 at 6:30PM is the Fall/Oktoberfest Party, hosted by yours truly and his frau, Julie. The address is 4100 Camino Dr, Plano, TX 75074. We will be serving bratwurst two ways: smoked and beer boiled w/onions, along with pretzels, German mustard, and beer cheese. Please bring a side, appetizer, or dessert. There will also be a Oktoberfest people’s choice beer competition. Details HERE, along with sign-up.

October Officer Meeting Location Change

Greetings, NTHBA. Due to inconsistencies in service at The Londoner, we decided to relocate this month’s officer meeting to another location. We will convene tomorrow at Vickery Park in old downtown Plano. They are located at 1011 E 15th St, Plano, TX 75074. As usual, we will arrive around 6:30 and get started with officer business around 7:00.

In this month’s newsletter, I mentioned that we are seeking volunteers for 2023 officers, as we will have elections at the November meeting. If you have already expressed an interest, or would consider it, please feel free to come to the meeting tomorrow.
